Mike Beck

Mike Beck, RPF, is President and Partner at Capacity Forest Management and brings over 30 years of experience in the forestry sector.  Since joining Capacity 15 years ago, he has played a key role in advancing First Nations forestry initiatives, with a strong focus on tenure acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and comprehensive tenure management. Mike brings a strong background with negotiations with First Nations, government, and industry stakeholders developing mutually beneficial agreements that support long-term economic and environmental sustainability.

In addition, Mike is serving as a forestry advisor on the landmark Lake Babine Nation Foundation Agreement, supporting the continued growth and development of Lake Babine Nation’s forestry business and helping position Lake Babine Nation as a leading indigenous tenure holder in the Northern British Columbia region. Mike has also, played a key role at Forest Landscape Planning tables, helping integrate Indigenous values, land use priorities, and sustainable forest practices into operational and strategic planning processes, while ensuring First Nations forestry businesses maintain their allowable annual cut (AAC) and retain access to tenure opportunities.
