Manager of Indigenous Relations, Prince Rupert Port Authority
Maynard Angus joined the Prince Rupert Port Authority in 2007 as Manager of Public & Community Relations. In September 2016, Mr. Angus transitioned from his previous position to lead the Port of Prince Rupert’s development and implementation of Indigenous engagement initiatives.
Prior to joining the Prince Rupert Port Authority, Mr. Angus was the founding and operating manager of Community Futures Development Corporation in Prince Rupert.
Mr. Angus received his education from Royal Roads University in Leadership Management and Public Relations Management.
Mr. Angus is currently a Director of Indigenous Works Canada (formerly the Aboriginal Human Resource Council), Nisga’a-Gingolx Enterprise Ltd. and British Columbia’s Northern Native Broadcasting, a past President of the Prince Rupert & District Chamber of Commerce, a past Director of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, Community Futures Development Corporation, Northern Corridor Development Corporation and First Nations Technology Council.
Mr. Angus is married to Janice and has two children, Madalyn and Leland. And is from the Nisga’a community of Gingolx, located in north western British Columbia.
