George is the Parliamentary Secretary for Transit. He also serves as Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Whole.

Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, George worked as an established commercial lawyer at one of Canada’s largest firms. In addition, he served as a City Councillor in Nanaimo and as a Director for the Regional District of Nanaimo.

He has served as Chair of the Vancouver Island University Board of Governors, President of Literacy Central Vancouver Island, and volunteered with the Canadian Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee, Literacy Central Vancouver Island, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools Foundation, and many other organizations dedicated to making his community stronger.

He is a recipient of the distinction for citizenship from the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, as well as a BC Achievement Award in 2016.
