Dr. Jim Powell has over 35 years experience in the areas of fisheries and aquaculture sciences and is an established international authority on fish reproduction. His primary work has been in the area of fish physiology and adaptive management strategies of fish culture for a range of fresh- and salt-water species. He has extensive experience in aquaculture drug development, testing, registration and implementation in addition to work in fish health. A keen interest of Dr. Powell is in the conservation sector with involvement in threatened and endangered species recovery. He has served on numerous fisheries and aquaculture advisory boards and panels including scientific journals, certification panels and technical advice for organic certification. Jim has been the CEO of BC Centre for Aquatic Health Sciences since 2014.
