For over 25 years, Lisa Risvold has worked in the field of sustainable development in Treaty 6 and Treaty 8. Lisa started her career at the local level, where she worked with women and youth planning and executing community development projects. Her experience also includes working at a not-for-profit corporation that conducts applied research to improve and advance land and resource management along the northeast slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Her role was to manage the sharing of knowledge and tools, from R&D, with over 100 partners from industry, government, ENGOs and Indigenous Nations.
In 2008, Lisa started working in the mining industry where she continues to focus on developing practical solutions to create sustainable value for Indigenous Nations and host communities. In her current role as Vice President, Indigenous and Community Affairs at Conuma Resources, Lisa works with West Moberly Corporate Alliance as both organizations develop and grow their ESG programs. Lisa’s approach to ESG involves taking action every single day, an openness to making (and learning from) mistakes, a commitment to respectfully work together through challenges, and monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators.
