Jason Hwang

Jason is the Vice President and Chief Program Officer with the Pacific Salmon Foundation.  He oversees all of PSF’s salmon programs which include; science, monitoring, data, climate priorities and grants to community organizations for restoration, stewardship and enhancement.  The mission of the PSF is to provide thoughtful leadership in the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of Pacific salmon and their ecosystems.

Prior to joining PSF in 2019, Jason spent 25 years with Fisheries and Oceans Canada working on habitat management, habitat restoration, salmon enhancement, and community engagement.  He has worked throughout BC and Yukon, and has a deep understanding of the pressures and challenges facing salmon and the habitat and ecosystems that support them.  Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University, and a Technical Diploma in Fisheries, Wildlife & Recreation from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
