As Managing Director of Cermaq Canada, David oversees business performance, policy development, and planning, while also managing and motivating Cermaq Canada’s 250 employees. Over his 24 years in the aquaculture industry spanning several continents, David has honed exceptional skills in building robust organizational structures and fostering the development of high-performing teams.
In his capacity, David has been instrumental in leading Cermaq Canada through numerous processes aimed at advancing modern aquaculture in British Columbia. He is committed to adopting a progressive, transparent approach, particularly in First Nation territories where Indigenous leadership seek to build collaborative relationships to identify business opportunities and to support economic development. David intentionally seeks to cultivate relationships that support these broader business objectives, including Indigenous oversight and shared value projects.
David actively collaborates with various levels of provincial and federal governments to advance the understanding of the aquaculture sector, striving to foster stability and business certainty while advocating for the positive contributions the salmon farming industry makes to British Columbia, Canada and Canadians.
