Alexandra Thomas

Alexandra is from Tlowitsis First Nation and has familial ties to Sishalh and Squamish First Nations’. She is a recent undergraduate from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia and a forester in training (FIT). In her younger years she worked as a Tlowitsis Guardian and now works for the Nanwakolas Council as the Forest Stewardship Coordinator. Alex’s work with the Nanwakolas Council has involved representing Tlowitsis First Nation in ongoing forestry planning, providing technical forestry support/training for guardians, facilitating engagement events, and the creation and facilitation of the Nanwakolas Cultural Awareness workshop for non-indigenous partners.
